It is the first step Towards becoming Gas Safe registered. Once you have Successfully Passed your Assessments you are able to work in the industry as a qualified engineer for a Gas Safe registered employer and will get a Gas Safe Register card in your employer’s name. You only need to be Gas Safe registered in your own right if you work as a self employed engineer or if you employ other gas operatives. We recommend that newly qualified operatives work with the support of an employer before considering self employment.
You can start work straight after you have finished your Assessments provided it is with an employer. If you wish to go self employed then you will need to apply to Gas Safe Register for registration with them. You will possess all the relevant qualifications to satisfy them on registration.
